Your personnal freediving coach, in your pocket

Dry training

Dry apnea training is one of the most effective ways to improve your breath-hold performances – but doing it correctly requires structure, timing, and the ability to read your body’s responses.

Based on data

CESURA turns any training spot into a structured workout. The app guides you through scientifically-designed apnea tables, monitors your heart rate and oxygen saturation or HRV via bluetooth sensors, and uses AI to analyse every session and tell you exactly what to work on next.

Achieve your goals

Wether you’re preparing for your next depth record, working toward your AIDA certification, or simply building a consistent training habit, CESURA gives you the tools serious freedivers rely on.

Everything you need to train with purpose

Structured apnea tables

Choose from proven table formats and let the wizard configure the full sessions for you:

  • CO2 tables – Fixed breath-hold, decreasing recovery. Trains your body to tolerat higher CO2 levels and push through the urge to breath.
  • O2 tables – Increasing breath-hold, fixed recovery. Progressively extends your maximum static time by adapting your oxygen efficiency.
  • Wonka tables – One single recovery breath between holds, with the target counted from your first contraction. Maximises CO2 stress and sharpens ability to perform under pressure.
  • Free tables – Build every cycle by hand for fully custom sessions.

Every table runs with a step-by-step wizard: pick your training type, target unit, table format, and cycle parameters. CESURA handles the rest.

Static, walk, reps, or neuro – train the way you dive

CESURA supports four training modes to match your discipline and goals:

  • Static – Classic time-based dry apnea. Ideal for STA preparation.
  • Walk – Step-counted or GPS tracked tables that simulate dynamic no-fins (DNF) and dynamic with fins (DNF) on land. Your phone counts your steps or tracks your distance automatically.
  • Reps – Repetition based cycles for co-ordinated land drills.
  • Neuro/CNS – Your heart rate sets the pace. The app monitors your 10-second rolling heart rate via a Bluetooth sensor and ends the hold automatically when your limit is reached – no guessing, no over-stress.

Live biometrics via Bluetooth

Connect any standard Bluetooth heart rate monitor or pulse oxymeter and watch your physiology in real time during every session.

CESURA is compatible with all major brands: Polar H10, Garmin, Coros, Suunto, Wahoo TICKR, Wellue O2Ring, Masimo, and more.

During a session, the apps tracks:

  • Heart rate (BPM)- continuously
  • RR intervals – the beat-to-beat variation that reveals your nervous system state
  • RMSSD – a real-time HRV metric that shows how deeply your autonomic system is relaxing
  • SPO2 (blood oxygen saturation) – from a fingertip oximeter

Your sensor reconnect automatically across sessions so you never miss a beat.

Deep session analysis – cycle by cycle

After every session, CESURA shows you a detailed breakdown of what happened:

  • Full HR chart with retention and recovery bands – scroll, zoom, and navigate to any moment of the session.
  • Bradycardia depth – how low your heart rate dropped and how quickly.
  • Recovery/retention HR gap – the difference between your resting HR and your hold HR reveals how effectively you relax between cycles.
  • Comfort time vs. work time ration – tracks the portion of each hold spent before the first contraction versus after.
  • Cycle-by-cycle table – every metric summarised per cycle so you can spot where you peaked and where you faded.
  • Return-to-calm speed – how fast your HR returns to baseline after each hold.

These numbers turn subjective effort into objective data you can act on.

AI Coach – your personalised progression plan

After every session, tap « AI Coach » to get a full expert analysis powered by AI.

The coach reads your physiological data, compares it to your history, and delivers:

  • Session key findings – what your numbers mean in plain language.
  • Progression assessement – are you improving, plateauing, or showing signs of cumulative fatigue?
  • Next session plan – a concrete recommandation: table type, cycle count, target times, and rest advice.
  • Risk and data limits – honest flags when your data suggest you should ease off or when a metric is unconclusive.

The AI coach knows your apnea profile (gender, weight, training goal, current difficulty level) and refines its advice as your history grows.

.

Activity dashboard – track your consistency

The Activity section gives you a complete picture of your training over time:

  • Chronological session list with type, table format, status, and key stats.
  • Swipe to delete, tap to open the full session detail.
  • Stats dashboard – choose your window (2 weeks, 1 month, 3 monthes, 6 monthes, 1 year) and see:
    • Daily training load (total duration per day)
    • Total sessions, total time, total breath-hold time
    • Minimum HR recorded
    • HR trends chort: recovery min HR vs. retention min HR dy by day
    • 7-day rolling session frequency with the recommended training band (3-5/week)

Works offline. Installs like a native app.

CESURA is a Progressive Web App (PWA). Install it on your phone’s home screen from any modern browser – no app store required.

Once installed, the training engine and all your sessions are fully available offline. Data syncs silently to the cloud the moment you reconnect. Train at the pool, the lake, or in your living room – with or without signal.

From guesswork to measurable growth.

Most freedivers plateau because they train by feel, not by data. They don’t know if their recovery is genuinly improving, wether their bradycardia is deepening over months, or if they’re training too much or too little. CESURA closes the gap.

STEP 1 – Build a consistent base

CO2 and O2 tables give you a repeatable weekly structure. The app tracks your 7-day session frequency and flags when you’re under- or over- training.

STEP 2 – Train with your body, not against it

Live HR monitoring and Neuro mode mean you never accidentally push into dangerous territory. The app tells you when your nervous system is ready for the next hold – and when it isn’t.

STEP 3 – Understand what your data means

The session analysis tuens raw numbers into clear insights. See how your bradycardia deepened compared to last month. See wether your comfort time is growing. Watch the recovery / retention HR gap close as your relaxation improves.

STEP 4 – Get a concrete plan

The AI Coach translates all of this into one actionable recommandation for your next session. No guessing. No generic advice. A plan built around your specific history and goals.

STEP 5 – Track long-term trends

The activity dashboard and HR trends chart show you progress across weeks and months – the timescale that actually matters is freediving.
